As you may know, many handy image editing programs these days allow you to use layers while editing your images. What's great about layers? You can edit them any way you want while keeping certain elements separate! I always use layers, and keeping my work in different layers has helped me way more than I can count. SO the tip is (right! you guessed it!) to keep your layers no matter how many of them there are! It often helps if you name or label your layers as well! One thing you can do to organize your layers is to group similar layers using the group function in Photoshop! Just by keeping your layers (and keeping them separate), you can save yourself many hours of suffering and regret (and who wouldn't want that?).
