How: Photoshop Actions
Using Photoshop Actions is very simple. All you have to do is select your document, and press the hotkey that the action uses (usually, the hotkey is listed right next to the action's name).
If the action does not have a hotkey, all you have to do is select the action you want to perform and click the play button (the triangle pointing right) that's located at the bottom of the actions window.

Creating Photoshop Actions
To create a Photoshop Action, you must have a document open. Click on the document, go to your Actions window, and click the "New Action" button located at the bottom of the Actions window; follow the directions for naming and then press record, etc.
Then, do all the steps for your action. When you're done with the steps, click the stop button that's next to the record button.
Ta-da! Your action is complete! Now you can use your action over and over again by either pressing play or pressing the hotkey you assigned it when you named it.
